PRTG in IDA: incidents in the same overview as everything else
Running PRTG gives you good monitoring - and one more window. IDA fetches the open incidents and shows them alongside the other sources, with customer reference, in the same overview as the tickets.
BetaThis integration is built and usable, but has not yet run against a production third-party system - it was written against the vendor’s public interface documentation. Expect some follow-up work on first connection. We would rather say so up front than let you find out.

- Open incidents with sensor, device and severity

- An incident becomes a ticket without retyping device and customer
- The view states how old the data is - it is stored state, not a live query from every open browser
Who it is for
Providers running PRTG who do not want incidents and tickets in two separate tools.
Setup: Store the address of the PRTG installation and an API key (PRTG 23 and later; user plus passhash works too). A self-signed certificate is the normal case - IDA pins it during the first connection test.
Every integration in IDA has its own switch. Turn it off and it disappears completely - including the columns, filters and reports that belong to it. You only see what you actually use.

Questions about the PRTG (Paessler) integration
Does PRTG need to be exposed to the internet?
IDA has to reach the installation - usually over the network the server is managed in anyway. Nothing is written: the integration only reads state.
Does PRTG replace the other monitoring sources?
No, it joins them. IDA merges several sources - each customer with whatever system runs at their site.
