Integration
Connect Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot to IDA: the MCP server
IDA ships an MCP server - the open standard AI assistants use to access applications. An employee connects their assistant by signing in and giving consent, then asks it for open tickets, expiring contracts or where a device is - with exactly the permissions they have in IDA.
What IDA reads from AI assistants (MCP)
- Tickets, customers, contacts, devices, contracts, orders and documents
- Open items, tasks, time entries and wiki pages
- A direct link into the IDA interface for every result
What IDA does with it
- Questions like "open tickets for customer X" or "which contracts expire in November" are answered in the assistant your team already uses
- If you allow it, the assistant creates and changes things - ticket, reply, time entry, task - under a separate permission
- Everyone sees only what they may see in IDA; the customer restriction of their department applies as well
- Individual customers can be excluded from AI entirely, for example for professional secrecy or an objection
Who it is for
Teams already using Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot who want to query IDA there instead of switching windows. If you would rather ask inside IDA, use the built-in AI assistant.
Setup: Add your IDA address with /api/mcp/ as a connector in the assistant, sign in, consent. Your own agents and automations can use an API key instead. Who may do what is set on the "AI assistants" tile.
Every integration in IDA has its own switch. Turn it off and it disappears completely - including the columns, filters and reports that belong to it. You only see what you actually use.
Vendor website: AI assistants (MCP). AI assistants (MCP) is a trademark of its respective owner; IDA connects to the system technically, which implies no partnership.

Questions about the AI assistants (MCP) integration
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard through which AI assistants access applications. Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot Studio and many others support it.
Does IDA run its own language model for this?
No. The AI is your assistant's; IDA only supplies the data the employee is allowed to see. There are no AI costs on the IDA side.
Can the AI change things without me?
Writing is a separate permission you grant on purpose. Every change is logged with a note that it came through an AI assistant.
