Banking, payments and dunning - open items in view

Bank transactions arrive over FinTS and match themselves to the open documents. Whatever stays open does not get forgotten, it goes into the dunning run.

What it does

Fetch bank transactions directly over FinTS, including TAN approval - no file import in between

Accounts without FinTS can be kept manually

Automatic matching of incoming payments to open documents, including partial payments and cash discount

SEPA direct debit as a batch with mandate management, first and recurring collections and the lead times observed

Returned debits are detected and move into dunning instead of disappearing unnoticed

Open items for customers and suppliers in one place

Dunning with stages, dunning runs, dunning documents and a hold per customer

A grace period for direct debit customers, so a collection in flight does not trigger a reminder

Payment providers such as Stripe and PayPal run as clearing accounts - payouts and fees land where they belong

IBANs are validated on entry and stored in one canonical form - and displayed grouped, so people can read them instead of a 22-character run

In practice

In practice

The bank statement is fetched every morning. Most payments match themselves to the right document, the rest are proposed in a list. Anyone who has not paid by the due date appears in the next dunning run - unless a collection is in flight for them, in which case the grace period applies.

Frequently asked questions

Which banks are supported?

Every institution offering FinTS/HBCI access - the standard in Germany. Credentials and the TAN method are stored per account; accounts without FinTS can be kept manually.

How reliable is the automatic matching?

Unambiguous matches are applied, everything else is proposed and confirmed by a person. A wrongly matched payment would cost more than the click it saved.

Can we collect by direct debit?

Yes. IDA manages the mandates, creates the SEPA batch, distinguishes first and recurring collections and observes the lead times. Returned debits are detected and trigger the dunning process.

How does dunning work?

Through dunning stages with their own deadlines and texts. A dunning run collects every due item, produces the letters and sends them; individual customers can be excluded with a hold.
