Which fits whom?
When HaloPSA fits
HaloPSA plays to its strength when processes have to be modelled very individually and somebody is there to configure and maintain the system permanently - plus the close ties to the international MSP toolset and its own ITSM and CRM products.
When IDA is the better choice
IDA fits when the German commercial obligations belong in the package - e-invoicing, DATEV, SEPA, dunning - and operations should start without a rollout project. Service and the commercial side live in one system, with nothing to transfer and no second truth.
Moving over: A move without a break: customers, contracts and items are taken over, tickets run immediately through the email integration. During the trial both run in parallel; you switch when it fits.
Questions about IDA as a HaloPSA alternative
Is IDA as customisable as HaloPSA?
No, and that is deliberate. IDA arrives with finished workflows for system houses - statuses, permissions, documents, pricing and contract types are configurable, but you are not assembling a system. If you want a platform you can model freely in every detail, HaloPSA is the better fit.
Do I need separate finance software?
Not for day-to-day work: quotes, invoices including e-invoicing, open items, dunning and banking are in IDA. The tax practice receives the DATEV posting batch - you need no second application for invoicing.
Where is the data?
In Germany, operated by S³ IT GmbH, in line with the GDPR; a data processing agreement is available on request.
Does IDA include an RMM?
No. IDA is not an RMM or endpoint tool - existing systems such as Checkmk, OCS Inventory, OPSI or UniFi are connected, and alerts become tickets.
How long does rollout take?
The trial is ready in minutes; a setup checklist walks you through tenant, mail, users and master data. Sample data can be loaded to explore and removed again afterwards.
